Hawzah News Agency- The main session of the ‘Qur’an and Human Development’ symposium affirmed the centrality of the Holy Qur’an as the supreme reference for shaping human thought and regulating the relationship between knowledge and values, while calling for the restoration of its role in unifying the Islamic vision and transcending intellectual divisions.
The discussions focused on the importance of balance between a realistic understanding of events and adherence to ethical reference points, as well as the re-employment of reason within a Qur’anic framework that connects knowledge with faith, thereby contributing to the development of a balanced human being who participates in the renaissance of the nation.
The first day of the symposium reviewed the theme of the centrality of the Qur’an in the field of Islamic knowledge, with five working papers presented that addressed the horizons of construction and integration between the Holy Qur’an – as the primary reference for human and civilizational development – and other methodologies that serve as sources of human knowledge.
The symposium also featured three public lectures addressing various topics from a Qur’anic perspective.
In a related context, a specialized workshop was held under the title “The Jurisprudence of the Self in the Holy Qur’an: Building Consciousness and Psychological Health in the Educational Field'', presented by Dr. Abdul Rahman Thakir Al Hashmi.
The symposium is expected to come up with a number of recommendations that contribute to strengthening the presence of the Holy Qur’an in various spheres of life, particularly in educational, instructional, and intellectual domains, thereby supporting the development of a human being who is balanced intellectually, spiritually, and behaviourally.
